How does the birthday countdown calculate the next birthday?
It builds the birthday date in the reference year using the same month and day as the birth date. If the reference date is after that birthday, it switches to the same month and day in the following year.
How many days are left until my next birthday?
The calculator counts whole days between the reference date and the next birthday date. This returns the number of days remaining until the next birthday.
How does the calculator count birthdays already celebrated?
It compares the birth year to the reference year and adjusts based on whether the birthday in the reference year has occurred yet. The result is the number of birthdays already celebrated by that reference date.
Why do I get an error if the reference date is before the birth date?
A reference date earlier than the birth date would imply negative time since birth, so the calculator stops and shows an error. Choose a reference date on or after the date of birth.
What does the birthday year progress percentage mean?
It measures how far the reference date is between the last birthday and the next birthday. The interval length is the number of days between those birthdays (usually 365, sometimes 366), and the percentage shows the fraction already elapsed.
