Frequently Asked Questions

How does the age from birthdate calculator compute years, months, and days?

It subtracts the birth date from the reference date using a calendar year-month-day breakdown. If needed, it borrows days from the previous month and months from the previous year so the final result is expressed as years, months, and days.

Does the age calculator account for leap years and different month lengths?

Yes. It is calendar-based, so it respects the true number of days in each month and automatically handles leap years when computing the date difference.

What happens if the reference date is earlier than the date of birth?

The calculator shows an error because age cannot be computed for a reference date before the birthdate. Choose a reference date on or after the birthdate.

How is total days lived calculated?

The calculator converts both dates into day counts and takes the difference to get the number of whole days between them. The approximate hours lived are then computed as days x 24.

What does the life progress bar mean in the results?

It is an illustrative indicator that compares days lived to an assumed 80-year lifespan. The percentage is only for visualization and is not a personal prediction or limit.
