How to use this Byte Units Converter
1) Choose a preset
- File size: converts between byte units like KB/MB/GB/TB (decimal) and KiB/MiB/GiB/TiB (binary).
- Internet speed (bonus): converts between Mbps (megabits per second) and MB/s (megabytes per second), plus related units.
2) Enter a value and select its unit
- Type the number in the Value box.
- Select the unit from the dropdown (the list changes depending on the preset).
3) Press Convert
- Results appear in two panels side-by-side.
- After your first conversion, changing the value, unit, or options will update the results automatically.
4) Adjust formatting (optional)
- Decimals: controls how many decimal places are shown.
- Group thousands (spaces): inserts spaces for large numbers.
- Scientific: uses scientific notation for extremely large or tiny values.
5) Use the magnitude scale
The scale bar highlights the approximate size category (B → KB → MB → …) for both SI (×1000) and IEC (×1024),
so you can quickly see the order of magnitude.
6) Copy values
Each row includes a Copy button to copy the displayed value together with its unit.
